Yeast as a Supplementary Feed for Lactating Cows

C. H. Eckles and V. M. Williams

Division of Dairy Husbandry, University of Minnesota, St. Paul, Minnesota

ABSTRACT

Conclusions: Adding a dried yeast preparation at the rate of 25 grams per pound of milk produced to a ration commonly fed in good dairy herds did not increase the milk or butterfat yield.

No effect could be observed in the way of condition of the animal or stimulation of appetite.
