ABSTRACT

Honors Award, Southern Branch, American Dairy Science Association. . .

William M. Miller, the 1989 recipient of the ADSA Southern Branch Honors Award has been a milk truck driver, a retail supply store manager, an instructor, a research technician, and an extension dairyman. He also has been a Kiwanian and held positions of trustee, chairman of educational work, and has been a member of numerous committees in his local church.

He was born in Grant County, Kentucky on November 14, 1923. He obtained a B.S. from University of Kentucky (UK) in 1951, the M.S. from University of Tennessee (UT) in 1957, and a Ph.D. at U.K. in 1961.

His work experience included 2 years with Kraft Cheese Company, 3 years with Southern States Cooperative, and 28 years as Extension Dairyman. He became assistant extension professor at UT in 1961. He was promoted to associate professor in 1972 and to professor in 1976.
