ABSTRACT

Appointments. . .

William W. Foster has been appointed assistant professor of dairy science at South Dakota State University. His responsibilities include 40% teaching and 60% research. He will coach the Dairy Cattle Judging Team as well as teach such courses as dairy cattle breeding, dairy farm management, and dairy cattle evaluation. His research will be in the area of dairy farm management and dairy cattle breeding.

Foster is a native of Rhode Island. He earned the B.S. (1983) in dairy science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VPI), the M.S. (1985) in animal breeding from Iowa State University, and the Ph.D. (1988) in animal science from VPI, specializing in dairy herd management.

Scholarship Opportunity. . .

During 1989, the Communicating for Agriculture Scholarship and Education Foundation, through its Honors Scholarship Program, will award four $2500 scholarships and eight $500 awards to college juniors, seniors, and graduate students majoring in agriculture or agribusiness.
