New Officers of the American Dairy Science Association

ABSTRACT

New officers for 1989–1990 are: from the Production Division, Neal A. Jorgensen, University of Wisconsin, Vice President; and Glen H. Schmidt, Ohio State University, Director. Elected Director from the Dairy Foods Division is William E. Sandine, Oregon State University.

NEAL A. JORGENSEN

Neal A. Jorgensen is Associate Dean and Director, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before becoming Associate Dean and Director, Neal Jorgensen was Professor of Dairy Science. He was born February 3, 1935, in Luck, Wisconsin. He earned the B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 1960. Graduate study was at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; he received the M.S. degree in dairy science in 1962 and the Ph.D. degree in dairy science with a minor in biochemistry in 1964.

In 1964, Jorgensen was appointed Assistant Professor of Dairy Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and in 1966, he joined the Dairy Science Department at South Dakota State University. He returned to the Department of Dairy Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1968.
