ADSA Awards Program

ABSTRACT

The program of annual awards and installation of officers was held on Wednesday, August 2, at Heritage Hall, Exhibit Hall East, Lexington, Kentucky. Twenty-one awards Were presented by representatives of the donors, and citations were read by chairpersons of the selection committees. The Association greatly appreciates the continued support of the donors in presenting annual awards to members of ADSA.

CITATION FOR J. E. LEGATES RECIPIENT OF THE 1989 ADSA AWARD OF HONOR

To gain the ADSA Award of Honor, a person must have served ADSA with unusual distinction and must have been a member for at least 25 years. J. E. Legates has been a member of ADSA for over 41 years, during which time he has served the Association eagerly and professionally.

Beginning with his service on the Dairy Cattle Breeding Committee in 1951 and extending for more than 30 years, Legates has served on more than 15 major boards and committees. Notably, he chaired the Production Division in 1967, the Program Committee in 1972, and the Internal Affairs Committee in 1973.
