Nonlinear Model for Describing Convergence of Iterative Methods of Variance Component Estimation

ABSTRACT

The common intercept approach of reducing the number of iterations in variance component estimation by restricted maximum likelihood is equivalent to assuming a nonlinear model for the convergence curve.
