ABSTRACT

CALIFORNIA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY

The California Polytechnic Los Lecheros Dairy Club continued its tradition of being one of the most active clubs on campus. Last year the club's widespread participation was honored by winning the university's Club of the Year Award, inspiring this year's 110 club members to continue working hard on upcoming events.

Fall quarter activities began with a "get acquainted" meeting followed by a rib barbeque held the first weekend in October. Students then participated in Farm-City Days, held at a local shopping center, to promote agriculture to the community. October's meeting doubled as a Halloween social where members came in costumes. The Western National Dairy Cattle Exposition was held the first weekend in November and club members participated in many areas. A club booth was set up and members sold ceramic cow chimes and milk bottle Christmas ornaments. Eight other members helped the West Expo Judging Contest committee by being leadpersons.
