ABSTRACT

Nominations for the Northeast ASAS-ADSA Award for Young Scientists for 1985 should be sent by March 15, 1985, to Dr. Henry Tyrrell, Ruminant Nutrition Laboratory, Animal Science Institute, Energy Metabolism, BARC-East, Beltsville, MD 20705. Information regarding the qualifications of the nominees and the nomination requirements include:

  1. 1. The recipient of the Northeastern Young Scientist Award must be a member of the American Society of Animal Science (NES) or American Dairy Science Association (NEB).
  2. 2. The recipient shall be no more than 40 years of age by December 1 of the year awarded. Anyone who has received a national award for a similar contribution within the past 5 years is ineligible.
  3. 3. The award consists of an appropriate plaque plus recognition at the annual meeting of the combined animal and dairy societies (Northeast Section).
  4. 4. The nominees will be evaluated on their contribution to the animal industry in agricultural business, extension, research, or teaching. Nominees with joint appointments or working in more than one activity shall be evaluated on their total contribution.
