ABSTRACT

Appointments

Katherine L. Lee joined the faculty in the Department of Dairy Science at Virginia Tech on May 25 as assistant professor and extension dairy scientist in Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) and dairy records. Lee recently completed her Ph.D. in animal breeding at Iowa State University. She earned her M.S. degree at Virginia Tech in 1979 in dairy genetics under the direction of W. E. Vinson.In 1977 she completed her B.S. at Michigan State University, where she was active in the Dairy Science Club, serving as treasurer in 1976 to 1977 and as the outstanding club member in 1977. Lee was a member of the Michigan State dairy cattle judging team. Lee has prior experience in extension, having served as dairy extension specialist in 4-H and dairy youth programs from January through August 1977 at Michigan State University

Lee's program at Virginia Tech will involve coordination of the extension education program in DHIA in close cooperation with management, the board of directors, county extension agents, and others; development of educational materials and programs in DHIA; and research into problems and opportunities related to the DHIA program.
