Presidential Address

ABSTRACT

Chancellor Kearl, Dean Walsh, Secretary Ausman, Reverend Ashbrook, Alice in Dairyland, and members and friends of the American Dairy Science Association, as a staff member of the host institution, I would like to add my welcome to our 78th annual meeting. It is common practice for the President to compliment the host institution and express appreciation for the hospitality. This is a bit awkward for me, but I would like to omit myself and thank all of my colleagues for their efforts in planning the program. Since I was General Chairman the last time ADSA met here and because of the duties associated with this job, my colleagues have kindly omitted me from all committees except the Steering Committee, which required little work on my part. Bob Niedermeier served as General Chairman, and the Dairy Science and Food Science Departments cooperated very closely in planning the program.
