ABSTRACT

Mr. Chairman, Provost Eddy, Dean Smith, Members, and Friends of the American Dairy Science Association. On behalf of the members of the ADSA, I wish to express our sincere appreciation to the faculty and staff of the Departments of Food Science and Dairy and Animal Science for inviting us to hold the 77th Annual Meeting of ADSA on the Pennsylvania State University Campus. Most of us know how much time and effort are required for handling a successful annual meeting on a university campus. Therefore, we are even more appreciative of the fine arrangements and facilities that have been placed at our disposal here at Penn State. The faculty and staff of the Dairy and Animal Science Department and the Food Science Department have planned well, and I know all of us will remember this annual meeting as a joyful and educational venture for many years to come.

One year ago at Louisiana State University, I stated that ADSA members had bestowed upon methe greatest honor of my career by electing me President of ADSA.
