Awards...

Purify Dairies, Inc., ahs established an annual $500 scholarship in the Department of Food Technology and Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Criteria for selection of a junior or senior student include scholarship, leadership, and potential for contribution to the advancement of the dairy industry. The winner for 1981 was Gale King, Knoxville. Jennie Ruth Austin, Morristown, TN, is the 1982 recipient.

In addition to the scholarship, Purity also provides $500 annually to the department to support the Dairy Products Judging Team. This generous support allows the team to represent the university in regional events as well as the national dairy products judging contest held each year. Purity is a leading producer of high quality dairy products distributed throughout middle tennessee. The company is headquartered in Nashville. Land O'Lakes, Inc., Arden Hills, MN, named two associate directors for the Corporate Research and Development Department of the farm supply and marketing cooperative, Gint Behrens and Ramesh Chandan.
