ABSTRACT
A part of the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of the American Dairy Science Association was a special issue (6) of Volume 64 of the Journal of Dairy Science, "75 Years of Dedication and Progress." Fifty-four articles by 88 authorities review the impact on dairy science and the dairy industry of the 25 years since the Golden Anniversary issue in 1956, a period of rapid changes in science, technology, and education. They also project what may happen in coming years. The issue commemorates contributions and cooperation of a multitude of remarkable people. We with editorial functions, organizing committee, editors, and editorial board were pleased to have shared in publishing this issue of 656 pages, equivalent in size to nearly four regular issues.
Contents of Volume 64 were distributed as in Table 1. This largest volume of 2802 pages was unusual mainly in the extra technical reports of the anniversary issue. Trends through 9 years are in Table 2.
