It is my pleasure to present a second special award at this time. In my formal remarks presented earlier this evening, I quoted from historian Trout's June, 1981, Journal of Dairy Science review of our past 25 years in which he noted that the most significant single decision of the past 25 years of ADSA was that of employing a full-time Executive Secretary. I agree wholeheartedly and would like to add to this, Dr. Trout, by saying equally significant was the person chosen to fill that position.
It was fortunate indeed for the American Dairy Science Association and its members that Claude Cruse was available. Through his superb management of the business affairs of our Association, out net worth has increased nearly fivefold during the past 15 years, and you heard my review of related benefits of his management skills and practices and saw slides of our National Office Building that Claude located and helped negotiate the purchase of at a very attractive price.
