ABSTRACT
Chairperson Rusoff, Chancellor Harper, Dr. Frye, members of the platform party, members, and friends of the American Dairy Science Association. It is appropriate and timely that we assemble in the South - a geographical area steeped in history and tradition - to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the American Dairy Science Association. I want to thank Dr. Frye and his faculty most sincerely for inviting us to hold our 1981 Annual Meeting on the beautiful campus of Louisiana State University. This is indeed a delightful and historic occasion.
I want to recognize and thank this year's local chairperson, L. L. Rusoff, and all others of the LSU family for the planning and follow-through that have set the stage for this meaningful and productive meeting as we celebrate the completion of 75 years of service to the dairy industry and those it serves. We appreciate very much the countless hours devoted by the staff and faculty of a host institution to the staging of an annual meeting.
