The American Dairy Science Association

ABSTRACT

Fundamental to the successful programs and activities of the American Dairy Science Association over the past 75 yr have been the cooperation and contributions of hundreds of dedicated scientists, teachers, extension workers, representatives of government and industry, and students. We again have called on a number representing these groups, this time to author this special issue of the Journal of Dairy Science commemorating our Diamond Jubilee Anniversary.

This 75th year of our Association is of more than routine historical significance. It affords us the opportunity to reflect on the past and, more importantly, also to look ahead. The search for a simple formula of what the future holds for our Association and the dairy industry can best begin by asking the experts to review what has happened and project into die future. This has been done through the cooperative efforts of some 86 authorities who prepared the articles that comprise this special issue.
