Henry F. Judkins, native of Kingston, NH, retired educator and industry executive, died July 11, 1980, at the Ocean View Nursing Home in New Smyma Beach, FL.
He had a long and illustrious career. He graduated from the University of New Hamphire in 1911 and was appointed to the Dairy Department faculty, leaving in 1912 for a similar position at the Connecticut State College for 5 years. He served on the faculty at Iowa State College for one year, leaving in 1919 for Massachusetts State College to serve as head of the Dairy Department for 7 years. During his academic career he wrote a book on dairying that was widely used as a standard text for many years.
In 1925 he left academic halls to become a prominent and productive leader in the dairy industry for the remainder of his career. He created and was President of Sealtest Laboratories. while there he established uniform, high quality standards for dairy products produced by companies in the National Dairy Products Corporation's systems.
