• (Anticipated) Ruminant nutritionist, Department of Dairy Science, Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station, Center for Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge 70803. Assistant professor or associate professor. Salary commensurate with training and experience of individual. Ph.D. degree in dairy or animal science with strong academic background in nutrition and biochemistry required. It would be desirable for the candidate to have expertise in the dairy production-management area as related to forage production, storage, and utilization. The staff member will have adequate flexibility to develop research and teaching programs in accordance with the individual's expertise, the needs of the student, and of the industry. Teaching responsibilities will include graduate and undergraduate courses in ruminant nutrition to be coordinated with instructional program of two other nutritionists. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program on fundamental aspects of ruminant nutrition, especially as related to silage fermentation, protein metabolism, forage utilization, and feed efficiency.
