ABSTRACT

Appointments...

Leonard S. Bull was appointed professor and chairman of the Animal Sciences Department at the University of Vermont August 1. The Animal Sciences Department has 19 faculty members plus approximately 55 staff members, and includes ddairy, livestock, and poultry production; dairy technology, animal health and diagnostic service; Morgan Horse Farm; and extension activities in these areas. A native of Massachusetts. Bull attended the University of Massachusetts, Oklahoma State, and Cornell University. He obtained the Ph.D. in animal nutrition at Cornell in 1969 under the direction of the late J. T. Reid. He has held positions at the University of Virginia (medical physiology), University of Maryland (dairy science), University of Kentucky (animal science), and the University of Maine (animal and veterinary science) prior to accepting the position at Vermont.

Theodore A. Ferris was appointed assistant professor and extension dairy scientist at Michigan State University. Ferris' major responsibilities will be coordinating extension education in dairy cattle breeding.
