ABSTRACT

Awards...

Paul J. Wangsness, head, Department of Dairy and Animal Science, The Pennsylvania State University, was the recipient of the 1981 Young Scientist Award sponsored by the Northeast Division ADSA and the Northeast Section ASAS. He was born in Madison, WI, on March 27, 1944. He received a B.S. in agriculture from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1966 and his Ph.D. at Iowa State University with a joint major in nutrition and physiology and a minor in biochemistry in 1971. He received an NDEA Graduate Fellowship (1966 to 1969) and an NSF Graduate Fellowship (1969 to 1971).

His professional employment includes post-doctoral scholar, The Pennsylvania State University (1971 to 1972); assistant professor of Animal Nutrition, Department of Dairy and Animal Science, The Pennsylvania State University (1972 to 1975); and associate professor of Animal Nutrition, Department of Dairy and Animal Science, The Pennsylvania State University (1975 to 1980). In 1980, he was promoted to professor of animal nutrition and on September 1, 1980, he was named head, Department of Dairy and Animal Science, The Pennsylvania State University.
