The Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College System, 99 University Lakeshore Drive Baton Rouge Louisiana 70803
ABSTRACT
On behalf of the statewide Louisiana State University System, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our Baton Rouge campus for your 76th annual meeting June 28 through July 1, 1981.
Here in Louisiana, particularly within the LSU System, we feel a close kinship with organizations such as yours. Agriculture has long been the cornerstone of our State's economy, and LSU historically has maintained a close working relationship with your Association and the thousands of people your represent.
The fact that dairying adds some $272 million annually to the economy of Louisiana indicates that our citizens understand, appreciate and applaud the role your industry performs in the continued progress of our State. And here at LSU we devote each year a substantial portion of our manpower and budget to ensure the continued advancement of Louisiana's dairy industry.
In other words, in Louisiana you are among friends. We recognize the leadership, expertise and dedication you have demonstrated in helping to build a strong nation and a more prosperous state.
