Douglas Kenealy has been named the top advisor for the current academic year in the College of Agriculture at Iowa State University.
An associate professor of dairy science, he earned the honor for his service as an advisor to individual students as well as the student agriculture council. The award includes a $500 honorarium. Previous award winners made the final selection from 20 candidates nominated by each department in the college.
Kenealy was born in Council Bluffs and was graduated from Tri-Center High School in Neola. He received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees at Iowa State where he has been on the faculty since 1975.
Albert E. Freeman, professor of animal science and a distinguished professor in agriculture, Iowa State University, has been named recipient of the First Mississippi Corporation's award to recognize outstanding agricultural research. The award includes an unrestricted cash gift of $1000.
Freeman has been a member of the faculty since 1956.
