President W. E. Lavery's Invitation to the Seventy-Fifth Annual Meeting of ADSA

President W. E. Lavery

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia 24061

ABSTRACT

All of us at Virginia Tech look forward to the pleasure of being host to the 75th annual meeting of the American Dairy Science Association June 15–18, 1980. The faculty and students of the University join me in extending a sincere invitation to you and your families to our campus.

The dairy industry in Virginia contributes the largest cash farm income of all agricultural enterprises in the State, where approximately 1,800 Grade A dairymen are well organized in the Virginia State Dairymen's Association. The University has a strong Department of Dairy Science, with more than 100 undergraduates and 30 graduate students and active programs in research and extension. The Department expects to move into a new Animal Sciences building which is now under construction on campus.

With our Donaldson Brown Center for Continuing Education, the University has one of the finest University conference centers which will be headquarters for the meeting.
