ABSTRACT

Kenneth J. Douglas of Dean Foods Company, Franklin Park, IL is the new president of the Milk Industry Foundation. The organization is comprised of approximately 430 milk processing and distributing companies in the US, Canada, and nine other countries and has its headquarters in Washington, DC.

Douglas, who served as vice president of the Foundation from 1976 to 1978 is chairman of the board of Dean Foods. After serving for four years as a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he joined Dean in 1954 as director of industrial relations. Later he was named vice president of finance and administration, and assumed his present position in 1970.

Elected as directors were: Steve Conerly, Pet Inc., Dairy Group, Johnson City, TN; F. Miles Ezell, Jr., Purity Dairies, Inc., Nashville, TN; James G. Fransen, Beatrice Foods Co., Chicago, IL; Richardson M. Hanckel, Coburg Dairy, Inc., Charleston, SC; Norman Roberts, Crowley Foods, Inc., Binghamton, NY; Leonard Southwell, Prairie Farms Dairy, Pana, IL; William G. Schmal, Knudsen Corporation, Los Angeles, CA; and Walter Scott, Jr., Fairmont Foods, Des Plaines, IL.
