Discussion: The Canadian Experience in the International Dairy Federation1

ABSTRACT

Canada has been an active member of the International Dairy Federation since 1971. Benefits to the Canadian dairy industry lie in the exchange of information and in the work on industry problems that takes place within the Federation. Information is exchanged in the form of congresses, seminars, symposia, and between individuals. The results of work on problems by the groups of experts are published in the form of bulletins, as are the proceedings of seminars, symposia and congress. Individual contacts are important benefits. Membership in International Dairy Federation is considered in Canada as a positive activity and a real benefit to the whole of all dairy industry. a brief description is given of the makeup and activity of the Canadian National committee of the International Dairy Federation.
