The program of annual awards and installation of officers was on Tuesday, July 11, in the Kellogg Center, Michigan State University, East Lansing. Twelve awards were presented by representatives of the donors and citations were read by chairmen of the selection committee. The association greatly appreciates the continued support of the donors in presenting annual awards to members of ADSA.
Citation for Normal L. Jacobson Recipient of the 1978 ADSA Award of Honor
The candidate selected to receive the 1978 ADSA Award of Honor was born September 11, 1918 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He received his B.S. degree in dairy science from the University of Wisconsin in 1940 and the M.S. degree in dairy science from Iowa State University in 1941. Following service in the Navy during World War II, he returned to Iowa State University and was awarded the Ph.D. degree in dairy nutrition in 1947.
His professional career has been spent at Iowa State University as an outstanding research worker, teacher, and administrator.
