John H. Nelson, recently joined Kraft, Inc. as manager for Regulatory Compliance, announced R. H. Ellinger, director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance.
Before joining Kraft, Nelson was vice president of Scientific Affairs for Dairyland Food Labs, Inc. of Waukesha, WI, where he had a post-doctoral appointment as a research fellow at the University of Wisconsin.
Born in Bozeman, MT, on February 5, 1926, Nelson served in the Navy during World War II, and then earned a B.S. degree in d airy and food science at Montana State College in 1950. He obtained an M.S. degree in 1951 and a Ph.D. degree in 1953, both at the University of Wisconsin.
Currently, he is a director of the American Dairy Science Association, and is a member of the American Chemical Society, the Institute of Food Technologists, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Research Committee of the National Cheese Institute. Nelson was twice appointed by the governor of Wisconsin to serve on the State Department of Agriculture's Council on Food Standards.
