ABSTRACT
Early issues of Volume 59 were larger than usual to reduce the time from submitting manuscripts to publishing. This along with removal of abstracts allowed publication of 316 scientific reports, over 60 more than in each of the three volumes preceding. Volume 59 was the largest volume of the Journal of Dairy Science (Table 1). The rapid increase in pages of the last 2 yr is not likely to continue although manuscripts offered to the Journal in 1976 were 59 more than in 1975.
Contents of Volume 59 are described in Table 2. Several symposia should be completed for Volume 60. We still seek to have symposia from the annual meeting published by November, but too frequently they are delayed for a single manuscript which detains the products of other participants or necessitates split publication.
The Journal benefitted from a concerned and active Journal Management Committee. This committee was increased to four members for continuity.
