ABSTRACT

M. E. Ellertson will retire on November 1, 1976, after serving 40 years in product and process development for Carnation Research.

Ellertson joined Carnation in 1935 as a trainee in an evaporated milk plant in North-field, MN. As a chemist, he was assigned to work in quality control in Oconomowoc, WI, in 1937 and was transferred to Research in 1940. When the Research Lab in Van Nuys, CA, was opened in 1953, Ellertson was named assistant director. He has been director of process engineering for the last several years.

Ellertson will continue to work as a research consultant.

N. C. Ganguli, Head, Dairy Chemistry Division of the National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, India, was awarded the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Memorial Prize for gricultural Research of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research on January 30, 1976. The Kidwai Memorial Prize is one of the highest honors awarded by the Government of India to scientists and artists
