M. E. Gregory and L. H. Royster

North Carolina State University, Raleigh 27607

ABSTRACT

A noise reduction program for dairy plants is described. Local dairy companies volunteered their facilities for evaluation by the University. Noise surveys were made in five large plants. Several areas in the plants exceeded 90 dBA. Packaging equipment was one of the major contributors to noise problems in the plants.
