ABSTRACT

Excerpt: Robert H. Rumler, Brattleboro, VT, Executive Chairman of the Holstein-Friesian Association of America, was Guest of Honor at the Dairy Shrine Club's 1976 annual meeting.

Born and raised on a Pennsylvania dairy farm, Rumler is a 1936 graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor's degree in dairy husbandry. He then spent nine years as a county agent in Missouri and Pennsylvania and two years as Director of New Agricultural Products for the DuPont organization.

Rumler pioneered development of uniform sire production and type summaries and has been a leader and long-time proponent of efforts to streamline milk marketing in the US. In August, 1975, he was named Executive Chairman of the Holstein-Friesian Association after serving 22 years as Executive Secretary. In his new capacity, he serves as agent of the Board of Directors in policy development, relations with allied organizations on a national and international plane, and as advisor to the present Executive Secretary.
