Dennis R. Heldman received the American Society of Agricultural Engineers' (ASAE) annual Young Researcher Award during a general session of ASAE's winter meeting.

Heldman is a professor in the agricultural engineering department of Michigan State University specializing in food science and human nutrition.

The award, sponsored by the Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute, is given annually by ASAE to an agricultural engineer under the age of 40 who has established new facts or principles in the field of agricultural engineering through systematic, scientific study.
