Effect of Feeding Coumaphos on Feed Intake and Rate of Gain of Steers1

Chemical and Biophysical Control Laboratory, Agricultural Environment Quality Institute, ARC, ARS, USDA, Beltsville, Maryland 20705

ABSTRACT

When four Holstein steers were fed a ration countaining 3 mg/kg body weight coumaphos for 135 days, blood cholinesterase activity was depressed markedly. However, differences in feed intake, feed conversation, and gain in body weight were not significant between these and four steers fed untreated ration.
