ABSTRACT

Recognizing that many dairy clubs sponsor fun activities which are also educational, the theme for this year's articular is "Educational Extra's". The Michigan State University Dairy Club expresses its thanks to all contributors for sharing their activities.

The Diary Science Club at the University of Illinois has three main objectives: to provide students and staff with a chance to get to know each other, to establish a social gathering of students interested in the dairy industry, and to offer an educational experience. We attempt to carry out the educational objective in several ways. At each meeting we have a speaker connected with the dairy industry, retired and present dairymen, American Dairy Association representatives, and the former State Secretary of Agriculture.

In the fall we cosponsor a "Little International" with the Hoof and Horn Club in honor of Dad's Day. Though this is mainly a fun event, it does have an educational aspect.
