Preparation of {alpha}S1-casein A

ABSTRACT

A method was developed for the preparation of {alpha}S1-casein A from whole casein containing the mixed variant {alpha}S1-casein AB. It involved selective degradation of {alpha}A1-casein B by pepsin or rennet and isolation of {alpha}A1-casein A from the mixture of degradation products by DEAE-cellulose chromatography.
