The President's Comments

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg

ABSTRACT

We have received several inquiries about travel funds for XIX International Dairy Congress to be held at New Delhi, India, in December, 1974. Several contacts have been made. One possibility at this time is to be submit individual proposals to the Office of International Programs, National Science Foundation, Washington, D.C. 20550. I have discussed this with Drs. Karl Olsoni and R. R. Ronkin, and it is their suggestion that proposals be submitted by individual members rather than by the ADSA as an organization. Those who are interested should write to the office of International Programs for forms and instructions for submitting proposals. The deadline for proposals to NSF is July 31, 1974. I am seeking other possible sources of funds for the Congress and will keep you informed through subsequent comments.

On December 6 and 7 I attended a meeting of Society Presidents sponsored by the American Institute of Biological Sciences. Presidents or executive officers of 44 biological societies attended.
