Introducing...

Rita Hasenberg, Technical Editor of the Journal of Dairy Science, started working for the Journal in May 1974 when Amy Garant was still editing. When Garant left at the end of June, Hasenberg assumed her duties. Hasenberg is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Communications, a major in news editing. She was editor of her junior college newspaper for 1.5 yr before she entered the University.

Hasenberg receives and acknowledges receipt of all manuscripts submitted to the Journal. She works closely with editors L. D. McGilliard and C. A. Ernstrom. The Editors assign and corroborate with scientific reviews of ADSA manuscripts, while Hasenberg is concerned with technical editing of spelling, grammatical structure, format, and processing of manuscripts through Wayside Press, printers of the Journal.

Rita and her husband John, a graduate student of architecture at the University of Illinois, live within walking distance of the ADSA office in Champaign.
