ABSTRACT
Liquid paraffin was studied as a digestibility marker in calves receiving milk replacer, concentrates, and concentrates and roughage. Recovery of paraffin in the feces was high and stable. Fecal paraffin was highly correlated with fecal fatty acids, total nitrogen, dry matter, and ash. Digestibility coefficients from total fecal collection correlated well with the mean digestibility coefficients from paraffin of samples collected 4, 8, and 12 h after feeding.
