ABSTRACT

Enos G. Huffer, retired former Director of Milk Control, Illinois Health Department, has been awarded the 1973 Paul H. Tracy Award by The Chicago Dairy Technology Society at its April meeting. The Award, bearing the name of the Society's founder, was established by the Society to honor selected individuals in the Chicago area who have rendered meritorious service to the dairy food industry.

The citation reads as follows. Enos G. Huffer has rendered outstanding service to the dairy industry for almost a half a century. After graduation from the University of Illinois, he spent six years of his early professional carreer in the dairy processing industry both here and abroad, but his major contributions have in the area of milk sanitation. for 41 years, he was an effective leader in the Illinois Department of Public Health, Bureau of Milk Control. He was frequently the guiding light for legislation aimed at improvement of the quality of milk products.
