Maurice Joseph Regan (1894–1973)

ABSTRACT

Maurice Joseph (Pat) Regan died Tuesday, September 25, 1973, at Columbia, Missouri, following a brief coronary illness. Pat was born on October 2, 1894, near Joplin, Missouri. The son of Dr. and Mrs. William Regan grew up on a dairy farm operated by his uncle and grandfather. His early experience with dairying was the delivery of milk from the family farm to consumers in Joplin.

Following graduation from the Joplin High School in 1914 he entered the University of Missouri. His academic training was interrupted in 1917 when he entered the Army Air Force for World War I. He received a second lieutenant commission and was discharged in March of 1919.

Returning to his studies at Missouri he received the B.S. degree in 1921 and shortly thereafter was Extension Dairyman of the University of Missouri. He received an M.S. degree in 1928. On June 25, 1922, he maried Victorine Whitfield of Medora, Illinois.
