Memorial Elmer C. Scheidenhelm 1905–1972

ABSTRACT

Elmer C. Scheidenhelm, 66, of 1002 Devonshire, Champaign, Illinois, died at 8:45 AM Saturday, May 27, 1972 at Carle Hospital, Urbana, Illinois, where he had been a patient for two weeks following a heart attack.

Mr. Scheidenhelm retired in 1967 after 40 years in agricultural extension work. He served as Douglas County Extension Adviser for three years, and was a state dairy extension specialist for many years.

He was born June 22, 1905, at Mendota, a son of George John and Nettie Waldorf Scheidenhelm. He married Helen Brian Larmore.

He is survived by his widow, at home; a son, A. John Scheidenhelm, of Harvard; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Sue Eilrich of St. Louis and Mrs. Sarah Jane Biermann of Davenport, Iowa; and a brother, Harold of Mendota.

He was preceded in death by one brother. Mr. Scheidenhelm earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois and a master of science degree from Michigan State University.
