Nutritional Value of Blighted Corn as Silage or as Grain1

D. M. Caldwell and T. W. Perry

Department of Animal Sciences, Purdue University, Lafayette, Indiana 47907

ABSTRACT

Digestibility trials with 300 to 350 kg steers indicated no significant difference between blighted and normal corn silage or grain as a feedstuff for growing beef steers. Extra care in harvesting and processing is recommended to prevent secondary problems with blighted feedstuffs.
