Each year the College of Agriculture Alumni Association, University of Illinois at Urbana, presents an Award of Merit to outstanding graduates. Bases for making this award are: a B.S. degree from the University College of Agriculturel; outstanding accomplishments in a chosen area; significant contributions to agriculture; and contributions tgo good citizenship and community service.
Dr. P. H. Tracy received the Award of Merit February 6, 1971.
He enrolled in the College of Agriculture September 1914, but before he graduated he was commissioned a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in 1918, and was discharged in April 1919.
He received the B.S. degree in agriculture in agriculture in 1920, and continuing graduate work he received the M.S. degree in 1922 and Ph.D. degree in 1930, both in dairy husbandry while serving as an instructor in the College.
His honorary societies include Alpha Zeta, Gamma Alpha, Gamma Sigma Delta. Phi Kappa Rho, and Phi Tau Sigma.
