ABSTRACT
Methods are presented for isolation of Golgi apparatus and ribosome-studded (rough) endoplasmic reticulum fractions from bovine mammary gland in quantities and purity sufficient for biochemical analyses. These fractions were characterized morphologically and enzymologically. Galactosyl transferase and NADPH1-cytochrome c reductase were suitable marker enzymes for Golgi apparatus and endoplasmic reticulum, respectively, from bovine mammary tissue.
