Milk Synthesis Program Committee, Department of Dairy Science, University of Illinois, Urbana 61801
ABSTRACT
This symposium on milk synthesis is an area of increasing concern to many members of the American Dairy Science Association. In recognition of this rise in interest over the past several years and its somewhat unique role to the dairy field, interested members were invited to submit papers for a special session concerned with milk synthesis before the 1969 meetings of our Association in Minneapolis. The magnitude of the response prompted scheduling an afternoon session with the submitted papers and a guest speaker.
A Milk Synthesis Program Committee was subsequently appointed for the first time in 1970 to function as a joint committee of the Production and Manufacturing Sections to make recommendations to the ADSA program committee relative to the 1970 annual meetings. This committee has arranged a program composed of a morning session of contributed papers for June 29 and an afternoon symposium on June 30. It is planned to continue this committee with several new members changing each year and a chairman rotating between the Production and the Food Industry Sections.
1 Presented at the Sixty-fifth Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association, University of Florida, Gainesville, June 30, 1970.
