ABSTRACT

With the aid of electron microscopy it has been possible to observe from a single secreting cell several Golgi vesicles showing typical stages in the formation of casein micelles. Photomicrographic evidence of interaction between Golgi vesicle membrane and plasma membrane at secretion is also presented. It is suggested that casein micelle formation may continue in milk after secretion.
