ABSTRACT
There were 206 research papers, 52 technical notes, 17 industry papers, 62 symposium papers, and 366 abstracts published in Volume 54 of the Journal of Dairy Science. Twenty miscellaneous items were recorded in the Association Affairs section (Table 1).
Numbers of research paper have decreased since 1968 whereas technical notes have remained constant except for 1970 and 1971. Total numbers of research papers and technical notes and their total pages are essentially the same for 1970 and 1971 (1).
Thirty-one papers presented at the immunoglobulin symposium, held at the University of Maryland November 18–20, 1970, were published in the September Journal, thus more than doubling the number of titles in this category for 1971.
Page Charges
Authors of papers in this country and abroad have criticized the use of page charges even though they may petition for relief if their budgets do not permit payment. The editor has replied that extensive surveys reveal that page charges are practical and fiscally sound.
