ABSTRACT
Isaac Walker Rupel was born in Walkerton, Indiana, May 3, 1900. He received the B.S. degree in agriculture at the University of Illinois in 1923, the M.S. in animal husbandry and genetics at the University of Wisconsin in 1924, and the Ph.D. in dairy husbandry and nutrition at the University of Wisconsin in 1932.
From 1924 to 1929 Dr. Rupel served as instructor in the dairy section of the animal husbandry department, University of Wisconsin. He was an exchange Professor at the University of Hawaii for six months in 1930; I. W. Rupel from 1930 to 1945 he was assistant and associate professor in dairy husbandry at the University of Wisconsin. From 1945 to 1965he was professor and head of the department of dairy science at Texas A&M University. In 1965 he was appointed chief of the Texas A&M Contract Party in East Pakistan, a position he held until his retirement as Professor Emeritus in 1967.
