Student Affiliate Division

John R. Campbell

University of Missouri, Columbia

ABSTRACT

"There are many objects of: great value to man which cannot be attained by unconnected individuals, but must be attained, if at all, by association."—Daniel WebsterWill the Student Affiliate Division of the American Dairy Science Association surface as an on-going, progressive organization that helps develop student leaders into the type of men and women who will lead the dairy industryin future years, or will its membership continue to decrease and its support from senior members continue to wane~. Do we senior members of ADSA care if the Student Affiliate Division survives? I believe we should pledge our full support of these junior colleagues and their organizations. This means supporting local clubs first. Most senior members of ADSAtake little interest in local clubs or in the Student Affiliate Division. Consequently, there Student organizations provide a vital of uniting students and giving specific purposesto non-academic activities.
