ABSTRACT

Six leaders of the dairy industry, representing present and past eras, were honored by the Dairy Shrine Club on October 4, 1971 at Madison, Wisconsin.

The traditional Honors Day Ceremonies were held at the 23rd annual meeting of the international membership organization during the World Dairy Expo, at the Dane County Fairgrounds, Madison.

The recognition ceremonies climaxed the annual banquet at which time Honorees' portraits, which will be placed in the Dairy Shrine Gallery of outstanding leaders of the dairy industry, were unveiled.

The Guest of Honor is annually bestowed upon a living man (or men) in recognition of his leadership and contributions to his field of endeavor while still pursuing his work. Two outstanding leaders were recipients of this honor. Their citations follow.

A native of Shelby County, Tennessee, Lawrence O. Colebank has received international recognition in dairy circles as a leader, teacher, counsellor and as a dairy cattle judge.
